Abstract

A hot-working tool is made from an alloy consisting of: C 0,2-0,5 per cent; Cr 10-25 per cent; W 6-10 per cent; Co 1-10 per cent; Fe, the remainder, the tool being quenched from 1100 DEG -1200 DEG C. to below 500 DEG C. and aged at 500 DEG -700 DEG C. e.g. for 4 hours. Up to 60 per cent of W may be replaced by Mo and the alloy may include V, Mn, Ti, Ta, Nb, Si up to 2 per cent each and Ni up to 10 per cent.
