755,483. Floors. BONA, G. Aug. 27, 1954, No. 24975/54. Class 20(4). In a method of constructing a heated, and sound proof floor, a carrier floor 1 made of reinforced beams formed of hollow blocks, with, or without, filler blocks between them, or of reinforced concrete, is first erected to carry on its upper surface 7 a heating installation, the heating coils 11 only of which are shown, air circulation openings being formed in the carrier floor 1 by removing small diaphragms in the floor blocks, or by cutting holes in the concrete, according to the type of floor erected, whereupon the feet at the corners of cast blocks 5, arched in two directions, are arranged on sound insulating plates 6 placed on the upper surface 7 of the carrier floor 1. A foundation of binding material e.g. cement sand grout 3, is then spread over the cast blocks 5 and over the plates 6 between the corresponding bevelled corners of the arched blocks 5 and in grooves 8 in their upper faces. Sound waves are dampened particularly in the air spaces 4 formed by the arches 5, and are absorbed by the plates 6, each of which comprises an upper layer which is smaller and thicker than a more resilient lower layer. The tubes 11 of the heating installation are connected to the upper surface 7 by means of a cement base 12, a metal strip 13 being added, if desired, whose edges can be bent up to form a channel to receive a heat insulating material, e.g. glass wool 14.
