755,290. Gas turbine rotors. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. July 2, 1954 [July 2, 1953], No. 19522/54. Class 110(3) A gas turbine rotor comprises several discs 1, 2... which are a push-fit on the shaft 4 of the rotor, the discs being separated from each other, by interposed rings 9, 10... concentric with shaft and which abut the discs at the peripheries thereof, the hub portions of the discs being spaced apart. 'The discs and interposed rings are secured together by a clamping force acting through them. The rotor blades, 26, 27... are mounted on the rings 9, 10... In the embodiment shown, a nut 12 is screwed on the shaft and bears against the disc 1 while the disc 3 bears agains a collar 14 at the other end of the shaft. The sides of disc peripheries are serrated and the sides of the interposed rings are correspondingly serrated. The rings are of U-shaped section and 'are provided with apertures 20 for the passage of cooling fluid. The rings are also formed with webs 15, 16... to resist compression forces and with vanes 29, 30; to assist cooling fluid circulation. The rotor blades 26, 27... are secured to the rings 9, 10... by welding. The surface of the rotor drum between the rings 9, 10... is completed by resilient rings 22, 23... which are welded thereto. Cooling fluid is supplied through the bores 18; 19, 20.
