Abstract

908,424. Securing rotors on shafts. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. April 7, 1961 [April 12, 1960], No. 12644/61. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXVI] A rotor for a fluid flow machine such as a radial-flow compressor comprises a hub portion which is supported with respect to its shaft by means of radially outwardly facing centring surfaces on hub parts on both sides of the rotor, the rotor hub at at least one side of the rotor being extended as a relatively thin-walled annular expansion-permitting part of U-shaped cross-section. The rotor shown comprises two parts 12, 13, the rotor part 13 being mounted on an extension 14 of the rotor part 12 and secured thereto by means of pins 15. A radially-outwardly facing centring surface 16 formed on the rotor part 13 engages with a radiallyinwardly facing surface formed on the rotor shaft 11. The rotor part 12 is formed with an annular expansion-permitting part 17 of U- shaped section, the inner limb of the U being formed with a radially outwardly facing surface formed on a flange 20 formed integrally with the shaft 11. The flange 20 is secured to a radial flange formed at the end of the inner limb of the U-shaped part 17 by means of keys 21 and bolts 22.
