[Also in Group V] In a rubber vulcanizing apparatus (see Group V) comprising an autoclave A containing steam coils 110 for vulcanizing sheet rubber wound on a cylinder 32, the rubber is additionally heated dielectrically to raise it to, its vulcanizing temperature by applying a high frequency voltage between an electrode 120 and the cylinder 32. The voltage is applied to the electrode 120 through a supply wire 126, conductor bar 125 extending through a dished insulator 15, and conductors 124 engaging the electrode 120 in the vicinity of its mid point. An earth return is provided from the autoclave casing 2 through a conduit 10 surrounding the wire 126. Tuning stubs 127 are interposed between the electrode 120 and partition 105. The cylinder 32 is electrically connected to the carriage B by brushes 95 carried by plates 94, 96 and arranged diametrically opposed pairs engaging opposite ends of the cylinder. Drums 99, 100 at the ends of the central axle of the cylinder 32 are also connected to the carriage B through brushes 98 mounted on plates 93, 94, respectively.
