Abstract

754,126. Cycle saddles. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Dec. 30, 1954 [Jan. 5, 1954], No. 212/54. Class 136 (3). A cantilever saddle comprises a seat portion and a mounting at the nose thereof formed by resilient blocks 7 adapted to be connected to a vehicle frame. The saddle comprises a steel frame having side members 2 joined by an arch 3 at each end and carries a flexible saddle top 4 supported by coiled tension springs (not shown). Sheet metal plates 6 are riveted to the side members 2 and bonded to resilient blocks 7 of a natural or synthetic rubber composition. The other sides of the blocks 7 are bonded to further sheet metal plates 8 which are drilled for bolting. to the vehicle frame.
