Abstract

753,064. Stapling fibres. CERTAIN-TEED PRODUCTS CORPORATION. May 7, 1954, No. 13357/54. Class 120 (3). [Also in Group V] Slivers of glass fibres R are fed from cones 50 between a resilient roller 62 and a roller 60 having circumferentially spaced cutter blades 61 which cut the fibres into short lengths prior to their being mixed with a plaster slurry for use in making plaster boards (see Group V). The fibres are fed to the cutter by a pivoted roller 66 which presses the fibres against the driven resilient roller 62. The length of fibre supplied to the cutter is indicated by a counter 83 operated by a wheel 80. The machine is provided with two sets of cutting apparatus, so that one may serve as a standby. Specification 721,410, [Group V], is referred to.
