Abstract

752,339. Spray carburetters. WIEGEL, P. H. Jan. 4, 1954 [Jan. 8, 1953], No. 168/54. Class 7(3) In a carburetter particularly for engines of motor cycles or auxiliary engines of cycles having a control slide disposed in a direction oblique to that of the flow through the induction pipe the slide is arranged so that when the slide is opened the narrowed passage defined by the edge of the slide and the wall of the induction pipe moves axially of the pipe away from the jet. In Fig. 3 10 indicates the obliquely disposed sliding throttle valve. The fuel nozzle 12 is mounted in a rubber support and is adjustable by means of a screw 14. An auxiliary fixed jet is superfluous in most cases. A construction in which the oblique position of the throttle valve guide is adjustable is referred to. Figs. 1 and 2 show known constructions comprising fixed jets 4 and 6 respectively. In Fig. 2 the jet 5 is cut out when the throttle is closed.
