A steel bar is rolled to form a helix, with its inner edge 12 thicker than its outer edge 13 and a length 14, Fig. 2, somewhat less than a complete turn is cut off and its ends 15, 16 welded together to form a conical blank which is pressed to form the disc shown in Fig. 6, having a hub opening 22, an inner mounting flange 21 and a rim supporting flange 23. Bolt holes are punched in the flange 21 and access holes 30 in the intermediate portion 24.
