961,982. Vehicle wheels. FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO. Jan. 27, 1961 [Sept. 26, 1960], No. 3234/61. Heading B7C. A disc wheel and rim assembly comprises a spun disc wheel having a curved bowl shape 1 with a flat hub portion 2 and a cylindrical relatively thin rim flange 3 connected by an outwardly convex curved intermediate portion 4, a rim 5 force fitting around said rim flange, said rim flange being continuously welded around its periphery to said rim by a circumferential weldment spaced from the edge of the rim flange of the bowl and penetrating through said rim flange into said rim.
