Abstract

751,033. Respiratory appliances. DAVIS, Sir R. H., and SIEBE, GORMAN & CO., Ltd. March 17, 1954, No. 7814/54. Class 81(2). In self-contained breathing apparatus which includes an oxygen cylinder a cooling device is provided which fits on the outside of the cylinder. The device may take the form of a corrugated casing 5 surrounding the oxygen cylinder 1, the air to be inspired passing through the intervening' space from an inlet 9 to an outlet 10. In a modification the enclosed space is divided by baffles to provide a longer path for the air, see Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) or the cooling device may take the form of a finned tube wound helically around the oxygen bottle, see Fig. 5 (not shown).
