751,099. Respiratory appliances. DAVIS, Sir R. H., and SIEBE, GORMAN & CO., Ltd. March 17, 1954, No. 18946/55. Divided out of 751,033. Class 81(2). An air cooling device for use with selfcontained breathing apparatus comprises a number of finned tubes through which the breathing air is passed. In one form the air entering at one end of a chamber 42 is made to follow a tortuous path through finned tubes 47 and finally leave through a connection in the upper chamber 41. In order to increase the capacity of the device two such arrangements may be connected in parallel. The cooling effect may be increased by enclosing the tubes in an outer casing and circulating cooling air through it by a clockwork or electric fan.
