Abstract
750,219. Transfers. LANGLEY, L. C. Sept. 14, 1953 [Sept. 12, 1952], No. 23017/52. Drawings to Specification. Class 100 (2). [Also in Group XV] Two or more sheets are each printed on one face with a laterally-inverted design in a carbon ink or like transferable medium, the colour of the design on each sheet being different from those of the others; by using each sheet in turn and transferring the design thereon by pressure to a single plain sheet, a multicolour design is built up on the latter sheet. On the other face of each transfer sheet to that having the inverted design is printed in ordinary ink the non- inverted design, the designs on the two faces being in register. The designs on the transfer sheets may be parts of a picture, the equivalent of pieces of a jig-saw puzzle, or parts of forms for manifolding purposes. Pressure for effecting transfer may be applied by rubbing or by passing the sheets between rollers. An assembly comprising the transfer sheets and the sheet upon which a picture &c. is to be made may be in book form, the transfer sheets being detached one by one after they are used. Sheets of paper, linen, plastic or metal foil may be employed.
