Abstract

1321220 Duplicating G RITZERFELD 24 March 1972 [21 May 1971] 13931/72 Heading B6C A duplicating master 3 is imaged on one side in reverse with heat-transferable colouring matter from a carrier sheet 6 as characters 2 are impressed on its other side, then the reversed image 17 so formed is transferred by heat and pressure to one or more copy sheets. Preferably the image 17 is heated section by section as the master 3 rotates on a cylinder, then copy sheets are fed through a nip between the cylinder and an impression cylinder. The image 17 may comprise a material of higher melting point than the colouring matter, located near the master surface, so that the colouring matter remains attached to the master surface during heating.
