Abstract

1,149,056. Printing processes. XEROX CORP. 27 May, 1966 [4 June, 1965], No. 23897/66. Heading B6C. In a process for duplicating, a superimposed three-sheet unit comprising an original sheet 1, transfer sheet 2 and inked sheet 3 is placed in a typewriter or other form of pressure impression such that on typing (or marking) an impression such as the word IMAGE on the upper surface of the sheet 1 an inked reverse impression of the word is simultaneously formed on the under surface of the sheet 2. Copies are taken from this sheet in a pressure roller device, Fig. 2 (not shown), until substantially all the ink material forming the reversed image on the transfer sheet 2 has been removed. Whilst the original sheet 1 may be any form of suitable paper each copy sheet must carry on at least its surface facing the sheet 3 a pressure-sensitive layer such as a coating of paraffin, microcrystalline or bees wax or mixtures thereof.
