Abstract

Transfer printing of fibrous articles is effected by (a) forming a detachable layer with, as main components, a resin and a medium that can show the phenomenon of super. cooling, on a support material, (b) forming a pattern on the detachable layer by means of an ink compsn. contg. a dye for the fibres, in order to produce a transfer plate, (c) preheating the transfer plate, (d) contacting a fibrous article with the patterned surface of the preheated transfer plate, (e) pressing and heating the system in order to transfer the pattern onto the fibrous article, (f) subjecting the fibrous article to dye treatment so that the dye is adsorbed through the fibres, and (g) soaping the article.
