Abstract

747,832. Electromagnets. ELECTROHYDRAULICS, Ltd. July 23, 1954 [Sept. 22, 1953], No. 26143/53. Class 35. [Also in Group XXIX] A full wave rectifier in series with a non- inductive resistance is connected across the winding of a plunger-type solenoid-operated valve and incorporated in the valve housing. As shown, with coil 14 de-energized, valve 1 is held closed by spring 33 and valve 29 is open whereby fluid from a device to be controlled enters at connection 13, passes along flats on the plunger 12 through the upper valve 29 to connection 24 leading to a tank or atmosphere. When winding 14 is energized, plunger rises, closing valve 29 by means of stem 32 and opens valve 10, enabling fluid under pressure, e.g. methane or penthane to enter at 6 and leave by connection 13. Rectifier 47 is connected across coil 14. In other forms there is a single valve moved one way by the coil and the other by a spring.
