Classes 16 and 146(1) A file folder, card separator or index card adapted to be filed vertically with a visible side edge, is laterally reversible and its two side edges are wholly or in part inclined in the same direction to the bottom edge to enable a label attached to a side edge to be read from above or below according to the edge to which it is attached. As shown, each card 1 or folder 15 has edges 2, 3 or 18 inclined to the base so that a label 8, as shown in Fig. 4, is more easily read by an eye 14, the top card 1 being wrongly disposed. The corners 4, 5 may be removed along vertical lines. The side edges are formed with slots 6, 7 or series of slots 20 for engagement by label holders 8 or 21. The folders 15 are suspended by rods 16 riding on cross-rails 17 and they may be connected at their front edges, concertina fashion by the label holders 21, when each folder is provided with only one suspension rod 16. Tabs. The label holder 8 is of U-section with flanges 9 at right-angles thereto with upturned ends 10. An arm of the U is passed through the slot 6, or 7 and a transparent sheath 11 with inturned edges 12 is slid over the flanges 9 and rests on their ends 10. A strip label 13 may be inserted below the sheath. The label holder 21 is similar, but with one arm of the U cut away to leave tongues 22 with flanges 23 which are passed through the slots 20.
