A carrier for the storage of a length of punched paper tape, comprises a sheet or folder having on one face a pocket which is defined by a tab folded inwards from one side edge of the sheet or folder, the free edge of the tab being secured to the face of the sheet or folder at an intermediate position across the width of the sheet or folder, the tab stopping short of the top of the sheet or folder, and the bottom of the pocket being closed by a further tab or by the hinge of the folder. Tabs 4, 6 on adjacent edges of a sheet 2 are folded over and the free edge of the tab 6 inserted beneath a tongue 10 to form a pocket 3. Alternatively, the tab 6 is provided with a tongue which is inserted in a straight slot in the sheet. A plurality of the sheets are held captive in a drawer by a rod passing through . apertures 14 in their lower edges, or are hinged to a backing member in overlapping fashion with the top marginal edge of each sheet exposed for identification. The sheet may be provided with a pocket at each side. Alternatively, the carrier is in the form of a folder, Fig. 3 (not shown), provided with a tab at one edge, which is bent over and inserted beneath a tongue cut out of said folder. The lower end of the pocket may be closed by a second tab as before or by the hinge line of the folder. A vertically sliding signal strip, Fig. 2 (not shown), to indicate the absence of a tape from a pocket, is threaded through two horizontal slots in the sheet 2, the lower edge of the strip being of greater width than the lower slot. An index tab may be provided at the upper edge of the sheet 2.
