Abstract

919,859. Filing paper; index tabs. ROTADEX SYSTEMS Ltd. May 18, 1961 [June 1, 1960], No. 19318/60. Classes 16 and 146 (1). Strips of microfilm, punched tapes or the like are housed in open-ended envelopes A, each consisting of a single sheet folded in two, the rear wall being folded a second time about a line 13 to form a closure flap 14, and provided with spaced filing slots 15 in its lower edge. The envelopes are contained in a rotary filing device comprising spaced discs 2 having enlarged peripheries to engage the slots 15, mounted on a rotatable shaft 3 within a housing 4 closed by a pivoted lid 6, or in a drawer provided with rods adapted to engage said slots. The rear wall of each envelope may be cut adjacent the fold 13 to form an upstanding index tab 16 integral with the flap 14, when the latter is folded over the front wall, which is positioned in the middle or to one side of the envelope. The free edge of the closure flap 14 may be inclined with respect to the side edges. The two fold lines of each envelope are scored, perforated, or rouletted.
