Abstract

744,704. Clamp fastenings. BODDY, C. W. Nov. 30, 1954 [Sept. 4, 1953], No. 24519/53. Class 44. [Also in Group X] For holding ceiling, or wall, boards 4, made, e.g. of fibre, plaster, or asbestos, against the flanges 5 of T-section frames 3, L-shaped pins 1, of round section rod chamfered at 2, are first inserted through round holes 7 formed at regularly spaced intervals along the lengths of the webs 6 of the frames 3 so that the flat surfaces 2 of the pins bear on the edge portions of the boards and the other limbs of the pins are upstanding. The pins are then turned through a right-angle, the upstanding limbs being used as levers, so that the limbs of the pins within the holes act as cams and clamp the edges of the panels securely to the flanges 5. The pins may be chamfered along one limb only, the chamfer being cut after the pins have been bent.
