[Also in Group XXXVI] An electrical component, e.g. a coil or transformer, or as shown, a condenser 1 having a connecting wire 6, 7 at each end, is rendered moisture tight by securing it within rolled metal layers 9, 10 insulated by an intervening layer 11, the layers 9, 10 overlapping, and the projecting ends of the respective layers being applied around and secured, e.g. by soldering, to the associated connecting wires 6, 7. The layers 9, 10 may consist of metallized paper, impregnated or lacquered or metallized plastic.
