Class 38(5) A switch has two arcuate or circular arrays of fixed contacts, each array having a co - operating movable contact arranged to bridge different adjacent pairs of pairs of fixed contacts in different angular positions of the movable contacts, each of which has its own individual operating member. As shown, the fixed contacts 1, 12 are carried by insulating rings 2, 31 and are separated by a further insulating ring 34. The movable contacts 9. 9<SP>1</SP> are rollers carried by spring plungers 7 radially movable in recesses 6 in insulating members 3, 32. Member 3 is keyed to a shaft 13 at 14, the shaft having an enlarged end 33<SP>1</SP> rotatable within a sleeve 28 which is threaded into a bush 24, the sleeve 28 having a hexagonal portion 29 engaging a similar recess in a plate 21, so that bush 24 and sleeve 28 cannot rotate. A knob 16 is rotatable on the outside of bush 24 and has three pins 17 passing through angular slots 20 in plate 21 into holes 33 in member 32 which can thus be rotated by the knob. Rotation of member 32 is limited to three steps by the pins 17. and slots 20, and rotation of member 3 is limited by projections 4 on. ring 2 working in recesses 5 in member 3. The latter is rotated by a key (not shown) which can only be inserted in and removed from slots 25 in part 33<SP>1</SP> when they are in line with slots formed in the end of sleeve 28. Contacts 9<SP>1</SP>, 12 may control vehicle lights and contacts 1, 9, the ignition circuit. Rollers 9, 9<SP>1</SP> may be replaced by hexagonal members and dissimilar metals, e.g. brass and " Monel" (R.T.M.), may be used for the contacts.
