Abstract

538,292. Rotary switches. DIAMOND H SWITCHES, Ltd., and TURNER, C. A. March 29, 1940, No. 5723. [Class 38 (v)] A switch casing has two halves b, c each with two staggered rows of spring contact blades n so arranged that when assembled one blade n in each half lies opposite to one in the other half and operable by one cam t' to control the contact of each blade with a co-acting fixed contact r. The blades in each half have a common bus-bar o while the fixed contacts have separate connections to the exterior terminals t. The cams are mounted on a spindle k which may have a star wheel x with spring pressed balls y to locate the various switching positions. Each cam comprises a disc. with a depression at one point to allow one or other of the appropriate spring contacts to touch its fixed contact.
