742,213. Joint-making packing. DYNAMIT-AKT.-GES., VORM, A. NOBLE & CO. Oct. 16. 1953 [Oct. 17. 1952]. No. 28625/53. Class 122(3) [Also in Group XXVIII] A packing washer 3 for use between pipe ends 1, 2 is grooved on its sealing faces to form annular serrations the walls of which define an angle of approximately 30 degrees, the inner wall being substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the washer. The material of the washer is preferably harder than that of the pipes and may be of metal or synthetic material, particularly polyvinyl chloride without the addition of a 'plasticizer. The washer is clamped between the pipe ends by bolts 7 and centred by an inner conical centring collar 6. In a modification the washer is frusto-conical in cross section and has both inner and outer centring, collars.
