Abstract

866,626. Joint-making packing. AEROQUIP CORPORATION. Feb. 27, 1959 [June 25, 1958], No. 7023/59. Class 122 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A pipe-coupling sealing ring of moulded elastomeric material is provided with an arcuate outside wall 49 and with inwardly converging frusto-conical lips 50, 51 which terminate in annular beads 52, 53. An annular V-shaped protuberance 63 extends from the inside wall of the ring into the annular cavity 46 formed between the lips 50, 51, and the beads 52, 53 are provided with ports 65 for the passage of fluid. The protuberance 63 and the ports 65 may be dispensed with.
