A pipe connection for synthetic plastics pipes comprises a male pipe part 3 mated with a female pipe part 1 having a socket shaped end 2 and annular sealing means 9 lodged in a groove defined between an extension 12 of the socketshaped end and a ring 10 of synthetic plastics material carried on the extension, the ring having a radially inwardly extending portion 11 providing one wall of the groove, the end of the extension providing an opposite wall thereof. The sealing means has a radially outer part 8 and an inner lip 6. In a modification (Fig. 1, not shown) two lips are provided on the seal. The ring 10 may be glued to the extension and the space between the male part 3 and the socketshaped end may be at least partially filled with putty.
