Abstract

An absorbent dressing or sanitary napkin comprises an absorbent pad covered with a compound sheet material comprising a tenuous web of textile fibres brought into face-to-face relation with a woven gauze, and an adhesive binder applied to discrete areas of the exposed surface of the web to bind it to the gauze (see Group VIII).
