Abstract

In a spinneret the orifices are arranged in several parallel rows so that all orifices are equally spaced by a distance at least ten times the diameter of an orifice and so that the outer orifices lie on a circle. Such spinneret is particularly for use in melt-spinning employing a transverse air blast for cooling the filaments as they emerge, the direction of the air blast being parallel to the rows of orifices for optimum cooling.
