Abstract

In the melt-spinning of artificial filaments from synthetic linear polymers, e.g. polyamides, the melt is supplied to the spinning nozzle by a constant delivery pump, the filaments, or groups of filaments, coming from individual holes, or groups of holes, in the nozzle are wound separately and variations in the denier of the filaments, or groups of filaments, are effected by using nozzles having different numbers of holes, or groups of holes, the cross-sectional area of the individual holes in all the nozzles, the delivery of the pump and the winding speed being the same for filaments, or groups of filaments, of different denier.
