Abstract

PURPOSE: A multifilament yarn extruded from the spinneret is divided and then collected at certain distances beneath from the spinneret to reduce the air resistance in the high-speed spinning, thus produce the titled multifilament yarn of extremely fine denier yarn without low uniformity and yarn break caused by draft.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic polymer such as polyester or polyamide is extruded from spinneret 1 into a yarn 2, which is solidified by cooling with the cooling device 3. Then, the yarn 2 is divided into 2W8 groups with yarn-collecting devices 4 and 4' which are located at a position of 300W2,000mm beneath from the spinneret 1. The devided yarns are reunited with yarn-collecting guide 5, passed through chimney 6 and oiling device 7 and wound up with winder 9 at a speed of higher than 2,500m/min into package 10 of a yarn of multifilament consisting of more than 100 filaments of 0.1W0.7 denier.
USE: A starting material for artificial leather, synthetic paper and filter.
