Abstract
740,336. Transformers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 28, 1954 [May 1,1953],No. 12318/54. Class 38 (2). An electric coil 1, for example for a transformer, having at least one winding comprising a plurality of layers of turns spaced apart by layers of thermoplastic insulating material, the coil being surrounded in a moisture proof manner by a layer of similar thermoplastic material is characterized in that at least one end face of the coil is engaged by an insulating frame 13 having an aperture therein which is larger than the axial aperture in the coil 1 and to which frame is secured the connecting members 15, 17, the ends 3, 5, 7, 9 of the winding or windings being led through the aperture of the frame and soldered to the connecting members 15, 17, the ends 3, 5, 7, 9 being covered, as far as the soldered areas on the members 15, 17, by a thermoplastic insulating material 19 provided in part on the frame 13 and in part in the aper, ture of the frame 13, in which aperture the material 19 is united with the thermoplastic' material around the coil 1. The ends of the coil are thus sealed and reinforced.
