739,446. Silencers for exhaust gases. GILERA, G. Feb. 19, 1954 [Dec. 10, 1953], No. 4987/54. Class 7(2). An inlet tube 1 provided with raidal outlet openings 2 extends into a casing 3 of gradually varying cross-section, e.g. an aluminium casting of truncated conical shape, and an outlet tube 4 of truncated conical form and widening towards its outlet end also extends into the casing. The inner end of the tube 1 is closed or substantially closed e.g. by contraction of the tube wall to cruciform shape.
