Abstract
739,150. Tubular heat-exchangers. HUET, A. Nov. 28, 1951, No. 8292/55. Divided out of 739,050. Class 64 (3). Relates to heat-exchangers comprising parallel tubes a each provided with two diametrically opposed fins b, c, the tubes being disposed in rows with the tubes of one row staggered in relation to the tubes of an adjacent row and the external fluid flowing transversely over the tubes. According to the invention, the tubes in alternate rows are so asymmetrically disposed with respect to the tubes in the remaining rows as to provide between the rows of tubes sinuous passages A for the external fluid having narrower portions c-d alternating with wider portions to produce variations in the speed of flow and in the pressure of the external fluid as it flows through the passages A. In the form shown, the arrangement is such that the distance x between planes XX-YY extending at right angles to the tube rows is less than the distance y between the planes YY-ZZ.
