Abstract

738,972. Artificial teeth. TORRIANI, L. July 10, 1951 [Aug. 5, 1950; March 2, 1951], No. 16299/51. Class 81 (2). A dental prosthesis is provided with permanently magnetized rods 1 of anisotropic material in the parts corresponding to the upper and lower jaws, each rod 1 having at its ends separate pole-pieces 5 of said material fixed in mating relationship at right angles, the free end surface of each pole-piece 5 being opposed to the free end surface of a corresponding polepiece 5 of the same polarity in the other part. The pole-pieces 5 and the rod 1 are cut from a common length of anisotropic material preferably of circular cross-section so that their mating surfaces which are highly polished make an angle of 45 degrees with their respective longitudinal axes. The pole-pieces 5 are fixed to the rods 1 at a temperature lower than the Curie point of the material employed, preferably by tin soldering. The rods 1 and pole-pieces 5 are embedded in the sides of a dental prosthesis. The pole-pieces 5 may havo teeth mounted thereon (Fig. 6).
