737,607. Sanitary closets. ZURN MANUFACTURING CO., J. A. April 10, 1953, No. 9886/53. Class 26. [Also in Group XXVIII] A combined carrier and pipe coupling for a water-closet or like wall fixture comprises a carrier plate 1 having an opening into which is screwed a pipe 5, and a tubular extension 6 which projects into an opening 25 in the wall 16. An externally screw-threaded sleeve 8 is screwed into the extension 6 and is sealed by a 'gasket 17, Fig. 4, which is compressed into the threads of the sleeve by the concave end faces of the extension and a nut 20. The nut has lugs 22 for engagement by the notches of a tubular wrench. The sleeve is screwed in so that it projects sufficiently to seat firmly on a gasket 12 when the water-closet 14 is secured to the carrier plate by bolts 26. The carrier plate is secured to a support 32 embedded in the floor.
