ments in Sanitary Fixtures; and I do herebyl declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, suoli as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to niakeand use the same.

This invention pertains to sanitary fixtures and more particularly to the provision` of improved nieans for securely attaching and supporting said fixtures directly froni the soil pipe.

The object of the invention is the provision of means vwhereby the fixture, such as` a closetbowl, may be quickly and securely so connected to the soil pipe, or to an extensiontliereof, that the said pipe or connection may bear the weight of the fixture and any l additional weight imposed upon the latter.

Another object of the invention is the pro-4 vision of instruinentalities which may be easily and quickly installed in position to,

effectively accomplish the purpose above set forth, and at the saine time effect a watertight joint between the soil pipe and the fixture.

Other objects of the invention will be f made apparent in the following specifica# i tions, when read in vconnection with the' drawings forming a part thereof.

Now referring specifically'to the draw-y ings. A indicates a closet bowl provided with a rear plate B, adapted to coveran opening in a wall C, and provided with an outlet D positioned for discharge into a' soil pipe E or an extension thereof. f

It is to be understood that Water is delivered to the bowl A, by an inlet F, andV passes around the usual rini in the bowl, and

through the outlet D to the soil pipe. The

outer end of the soil pipe extension E is ex` ternally screw-threaded, and an internally is screwed oiitof 'said extension E, the front peripheral face of said coupling Gt engaging a'packing gasket I-I located in an annular Serial No. 646,909.

Surrounding the coupling G is a yoke nieinber K, having a slightly ovaled opening in its center. Said yoke is adapted to be positioned upon the extension E of the soil pipe, and to be brought forward until its front face engages the rear face of the flange Ion the coupling G. The lower portion of the yoke K is provided with a groove L, formed between the front face of the yoke and an upwardly extending lip M formed ,integrally with the yoke. and forwardly projecting arin N is carried A downwardly by thehyoke, `and provided withan aperture to receive a bolt O, whereby the arni may be `Secured to the plate B. The upper portion of the yoke K carries ears P, whereby to receive bolts for fastening the yoke to the plate B, as will be understood. Set screws Rextend through the yoke K, and bear upon the coupling G, whereby to non-rotatively vretain theyoke'and coupling in adjusted outer surface of the wall C. The yoke K is then lifted off the extension E and brought forwardly over ythe rear portion of the coupling Cr, until the groove L in the lower portion of the yoke is below the flange I.

Because of the oval opening therein, the yoke niay then be lifted until the fiange I enters the groove L. The set screws R` are then appliedin position.

Vitli the fittings located as described, and threaded draw-bolts O positioned in the openings in the arm N and ears P, the back plate B of the bowl is pressed against the wall VC to cover the opening therein. In this operation it is to be noted that the bolts O pass through suitable apertures in the plate B, and that the projecting end of the coupling G contacts the gasket I-I in the annular recess in the rear of the plate B. Threaded nuts S are then applied to the ends of the bolts O, where they project through the plate B, and, when the nuts S are tightly turned down, the yoke K, being pulled against the fla-nge I of the coupling (if, presses the projecting periphery of the coupling into the soft gasket I', and effects a water-tight joint, as will be understood.

From the foregoing it will be noted that the bowl is supported entirely 'from the soil pipe, and that there is no necessity of any supporting` members in the room where the bowl is located. The flange I is clamped by the yoke K, at all points around the periphery of said flange, and as long as the nuts S are in operative position, the ent-ire outer periphery of the coupling G is clamped into the soft gasket I'I, assuring a water-tight joint. To attain access to the extension E, for clearance of accumulations, if necessary, the nuts S are turned off the bolts O, and the bowl A removed.

In certain cases, where deemed desirable, the arm N of the yoke K may be provided with an apertured rearward projection T, located below the body of the yoke, and adapted to receive a post Il, screw-threaded at its upper portion to receive nut V, as shown in Fig` 1. By raising or lowering the nut V, slight adjustments of the coupling Gr are permitted, for the purpose of alignment in centralizing it with the Wall opening 4in the Wall C.

Modifications of the herein structure may be suggested to those skilled inthe'art, but my invention covers Aallern-y bodiments falling fairly within the scope of the appended claims, and it is to-,be clearly understood that the fixture is adapted for use-in connection with slop sinks,and other sanitary plumbing fixtures analogous to closets.

I claim:

l. In combination with a soil pipe, a closet fitting having a waste outletand a gasket surrounding said outlet, a coupling secured to said pipe and establishing communica'- tion with said outlet, a yoke surrounding said coupling and provided with a groove in its periphery, a peripheral flange carried by said coupling and adapted to enter said groove. and means for connecting said yoke to said fitting and to simultaneouslycause it to press against said flange and draw said coupling into close contact with said gasket.

2. In combination with a soil pipe, a closet fitting having a waste outlet and a gasket surrounding said outlet` a coupling secured to said pipe and establishing communication with said outlet, a. yoke surrounding said coupling and provided with a groove inits periphery, aperipheral flange describedv carried by said coupling and adapted to enter said groove, said flange being also positioncd for contact by the face of said yoke opposite said groove, and means for connecting said yoke to said fitting and to simultaneously cause it to press against said flange and draw said coupling into close contact with said gasket.

3. In combination with a soil pipe, a closet fitting having a waste outlet and. a gasket surrounding said outlet, a coupling secured to said Vpipe and establishing comnunication with said outlet, a peripherally extending flange airried by said coupling. a yoke surrounding said coupling and carrying a laterally and up Tardly extendingl lip forming between the lip and the adjacent :tace of the yoke a groove adapted to receive said flange, and means for drawing said yoke against said flange to press the coupling into close contact with said gasket.

ll. In combination with a soil pipe, a closet fitting having a waste outlet and a gasket surrounding said outlet, a coupling secured to said pipe and establishing com@ munication with said outlet, a yoke carrying a groove on a portion of' its periphery, said yoke surrounding the couplingl and being provided with a central oval-shaped opening whereby the yoke may be moved to a position such that the flange of the coupling is received in said groove, and means for connect-ing the yoke to said fitting and simultaneously drawing the coupling into close contact with said gasket.

5. In combination with a soil pipe, a closetl fitting having a waste outlet, a gasket surrounding said outlet, and a coupling establishing communication between said pipe and said outlet, a peripherally extending rearwardly facing flange on said coupling, a yoke surrounding the coupling behind said flange, and means for connecting the yoke to said fitting and tor simultaneously ydrawing the said yoke against the rear face of said flange, whereby to press the coupling into close contact with said gasket.

G. In combination with a soil pipe. a closet .fitting having a waste outlet, a gasket surrounding said outlet and a coupling establishing communication between said outlet and said pipe, a. radially extending rearwardly facing flange carried by said coupling, a yoke surrounding said coupling and provided with. a surface adapted to contact one, portion of the rear .face thereof and with a groove adapted to receive a portion of' said flange, and means for connecting the yoke to the fitting and for sinuiltaneously drawing the coupling into close contact -with said gasket substantially as described.
