302,088. Shaw, A. V., and Abdela & Mitchell (1925), Ltd., I. J. Feb. 21, 1928. Addition to 290,356, [Class 26, Closets &c.]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Spigot-and-socket screwed joints; plates and the like, securing pipes to. - In the fushing cistern described in the parent Specification, the lower end a of the syphon pipe, Fig. 1, is threaded to screw into a coupling b provided in the bottom of the cistern, and the latter is formed with an annular recess c and wedge-shaped upstanding annular ridge d which causes the end of the pipe a to expand and lock itself in position. The other end of the pipe a is screwed into the boss f of the cylinder g of the lift valve, Fig. 2, and is secured by subsequent expansion, the inner end of the boss being rounded off as shown.
