Abstract

374,873. Pipe joints. HALBEARD, R. H., 4, Farkdale, Wolverhampton. March 11, 1931, No. 7470. [Class 99 (i).] The opening in the bottom of a cistern through which the siphon pipe 3 passes is provided with recesses in which packing washers 7, 12 are accommodated, one or both of which recesses is formed by an annular rib 6, the packing being compressed by a flange 4 on the pipe and a nut 8 which screws on to the pipe. A lug 9 on the flange 4 engages between projections 10 to prevent rotation of the pipe whilst the nut is tightened.
