Abstract

278,805. Wylie, A. W. July 14, 1926. Plates and the like, securing pipes to.--A, pipe B is secured to a plate, conduit, &c. A by means comprising a nipple G, which consists of two or more sections each having a lip or flange G<1> at the lower end which is inserted into the conduit and constitutes an interlocking agent relatively thereto and having part of the abutting edges angularly cut away to permit insertion of said flanges, and a housing C which co-operates with the nipple to lock it in position. The nipple is prevented from rotating by a washer D which has its central hole provided with two flats coacting with flats on said nipple, while the pipe B is secured to the nipple by a union nut E and packing K. The connection is completed by flexible washers F, H. The invention is also applicable to sealing or plugging holes in plates.
