Abstract

In a process for producing furfural, 100 kg. of olive residue which have been treated with 2 kg. of diluted sulphuric acid are introduced into a mixing apparatus (see Group II), and steam, injected at the bottom of the mixing apparatus, is passed through the material, producing 12 kg. of furfural in 20 minutes.
