733,563. Centrifugal fans. INDUSTRIAL FAN & HEATER CO., Ltd. Oct. 5, 1953 [Oct. 4, 1952], No. 24925/52. Class 110 (1). In a fan impeller having substantially radial blades 8 mounted on and secured to a hub disc 7, each blade has a slot 9 of a width less than the thickness of the disc, the slot being slid radially on to the disc (the left-hand blade is shown only partly assembled) so that the metal at an edge of the slot engages in a radial groove 6. Each blade 8 has a stiffening web 10 which may be made separately and secured to the blade ; alternatively, the blades may be stamped with integral webs from T-section material. The blades 8 are welded at 13 to the ungrooved side only of the disc 7 or to both sides. The webs 10 are welded to the periphery of the disc 7. A hub boss 11 is welded to the disc 7. The grooves 6 may be formed in both faces of the disc 7.
