Abstract
733,209. Angular bending. LAWLER, AYERS & CO., Ltd. Dec. 8, 1953 [Dec. 19, 1952], No. 32260/52. Class 83 (4). A machine for bending tubes or rods having a stationary former A of arcuate shape around which the tube is bent by an arm B pivoting about the centre of curvature C of the former and carrying a roller D or abutment either directly engaging the tube or acting thereon through a block E is characterized in that there is mounted on a support J for the former and coaxial therewith a circular or arcuate block K provided with a plurality of holes L in its periphery and there is pivotally mounted on the pivoted arm B a bracket M in which is slidably mounted a lever N adapted for engagement with the holes L of the block K, so that on pivotal movement of the lever N about the hole in which it is engaged the arm B is caused to pivot round the centre C to bend the tube around the former. The roller F is adjustable along the arm B. The lever N is guided in the bracket M by a pin R engaging a slot S in the bracket.
