733,175. Forging-machines. ENGLISH STEEL CORPORATION, Ltd., COMPAGNIE DES FORGES & ACIERIES DE LA MARINE & DE ST. ETIENNE, [formerly COMPAGNIE DES FORGES ET ACIERIES DE LA MARINE ET D'HOMECOURT], and CLEGHORN, G. S. April 29, 1953 [July 24, 1952], No. 18782/52. Class 83 (4). Making crank shafts.-In a modification of the forging apparatus described in Specification 622,938, the movement of the central die 4a, 4b is transmitted to the end dies 8 by toggle links 12 which exert an increasing pressure on the end dies as the working stroke proceeds. The links are pivoted on pins 13 carried by the main crosshead 10 and have V-shaped ends 12a which engage a complementary part of bearing pins 14- pivotally mounted in the cradles 3 carrying the end dies.
