729,361. Oil burners. NU-WAY HEATING PLANTS, Ltd. Feb. 1, 1954 [Feb. 23, 1953], No. 4950/53. Class 75 (1). An oil burner comprises a cylindrical chamber a having an open discharge end and a central entrance orifice d at the other end, a cylindrical member e surrounding the chamber a and forming therewith an annular air passage f, a cylindrical air chest m at the entrance ends of the chamber a and annular passage f having air entrance orifices n in its periphery, an annular apertured partition h within the air chest and forming therewith two air chambers, angularly adjustable air control rings o, k respectively mounted on the air chest and the apertured partition h and an oil nozzle q mounted on the air chest to discharge into the chamber a, the arrangement being such that the air entering the air chest can flow in proportions predetermined by the setting of the air control ring k from the outer chamber of the air chest to the annular passage f and to the inner chamber of the air chest whence it passes to the chamber a. The air control rings are apertured. Air swirl vanes may be located in the central orifice d of the chamber a and in the annular passage f. The front of the air chest is closed by removable plates s. The air chest may be surrounded by a duct supplied with air from a blower.
