Abstract
728,805. Induction heating. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Oct. 13, 1953 [Oct. 16, 1952], No. 28168/53. Class 39 (3). A flat plate inductor of the single loop type has its junction parts 4, 5 between the inductor and supply conductors overlapping and in closely spaced relationship, and at least one of the junction parts is provided with a constriction effecting a suitable current distribution in the inductor. In Fig. 3 each constriction is provided by a sawcut 10, and the current flows in the direction of the arrows, whereas in Fig. 2 the constrictions are provided by apertures 6, 7, and in a further embodiment the junction parts are notched. An aperture 13, Fig. 3 may be formed which increases the magnetic field in the vicinity of the parts 4, 5. Specification 711,099 is referred to.
