Abstract
727,711. Sawtooth generating circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Sept. 7, 1953 (Sept. 10, 1952], No. 24680/63. Class 40 (6). In a sawtooth current generator of the seriesbooster damper type and in which the damping valve is coupled to the driving valve through a transformer, the transformer winding 16 to which the damping valve is connected is in parallel with the primary winding of a second transformer 22, the secondary of which feeds an output coil 9 (e.g. a deflection coil), the parallel connected windings being provided on separate parts of a core which is common to the two transformers. By this means the ringing currents initiated during the fly-back are reduced. These currents may be further reduced by arranging that the voltages across the upper and lower parts of the second transformer have the inverse ratio to that of the effective capacitances across the parts. The transformers need not be of the auto-transformer type and the damping diode shown may be replaced by a valve having a control grid.
