710,629. Converting; transformers. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAKTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. Oct. 20, 1952 [Nov. 17, 1951], No. 26208/52. Class 38(2) In a circuit in which the deflecting coils 1 of a C.R.T. are energized from a driver valve 2 through an auto transformer 4, this transformer is wound in two parts 20 21 with a magnetic screen or shunt 23 between them to prevent ringing oscillations developed during flyback in part 20 from affecting the current in part 21 and the deflecting coils 1 during the scanning strokes. Part 20 comprises the winding between taps 3 and 12 in which a high voltage is developed during flyback, which voltage is rectified by diode 10 to provide anode voltage for the C.R.T. and part 21 comprises the winding between taps 3 and 5 which serves to energize windings 1 and an economy and damping diode 9. To prevent sparking, coil 20 is made narrower than coil 20.
