Abstract

643,150. Sawtooth generating circuits. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Feb. 26, 1947, No. 5525. Convention date, Feb. 26, 1946. [Class 40 (vi)] In a magnetic deflecting circuit for a cathoderay tube in which parasitic H.F. oscillations are reduced by a damping circuit, the amplitude of the remaining parasities is further reduced by varying the impedance of the damping circuit by means of a control voltage derived from an auxiliary winding associated with the inductive output circuit of the generator. In the Figure the amplifier stage 10 feeds deflecting coils 14 via an output transformer 16 and a damping valve 22. The impedance of the damping valve is varied by means of a control voltage which is derived from the series connection of the voltage across the deflecting coils and that produced across an auxiliary winding 50 on the output transformer, this resultant voltage being differentiated by the network 30, 40.
