Abstract
880,101. Transformers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 20, 1958 [March 23, 1957], No. 8964/58. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] A line sawtooth generator for television circuits includes a transformer wound to avoid parasitic oscillations which has a primary winding whose H.V. end is connected to an amplifier valve and which is tapped at 13 to divide it into two sections 7, 5, the tapping being connected to a linearizing diode 17, and a secondary winding 3 which supplies line deflector coils 19. The windings, which as shown are in auto-transformer relationship, are wound on a magnetic core in superposed layers and each section 3, 5, 7 is wound (a) to provide an odd number of layers which are wound alternately left to right and right to left (sections 3 and 5, Fig. 3); or (b) as an even number of layers wherein one layer is wound in the same direction as its predecessor (section 7, Fig. 3). The various sections may be of wires of different gauge and the axial lengths of the various sections may be different.
